Support Your Child’s Transition to Secondary School
5-Week Drama Therapy Group | Summer 2025 – Central Birmingham & Wolverhampton
Starting secondary school is a big step - and it's completely normal for children to feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. Our 5-week Drama Therapy group is designed to gently support children aged 10–12 as they navigate this important change, helping them build confidence, resilience, and emotional tools in a creative and supportive environment.
WOLVERHAMPTON
🗓 Dates: July 23 & 30, August 6, 20 & 27 (no session on August 13)
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

👥 Group size: Maximum 6 children (small group for safety and connection)

🎭 Facilitator: Led by a qualified and insured Drama Psychotherapist (HCPC Registered) with extensive experience in children's mental health, Arts Therapies, and school transitions. This is the first time I am offering this group in the community, and it is rooted in trauma-informed, attachment-aware practice. Every child will be welcomed with care and curiosity.
What to Expect:
Using Drama and Embodied Arts Therapy, we’ll explore key themes such as:

Expressing emotions safely and confidently

Managing anxiety around change or the unknown

Growing self-esteem and a sense of identity
-
Strengthening social skills and building peer trust
Sessions are designed to be light, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. No drama experience is needed, just a willingness to take part!
What to Bring/Wear:
Comfortable clothes for movement, a water bottle, and an open mind!
Expected Outcomes:
By the end of the 5 weeks, we aim for children to have:

A stronger sense of who they are and what helps them feel safe

Practical, nervous-system based tools to manager anxiety and stress

A boost in self-confidence

A positive experience of peer connection
💷 Fee: £270 for the full programme (£54 per session)

🎁 Bonus: 10% off your child’s first four individual therapy sessions if you choose to continue with 1:1 support after the group
